Meet the team
REVD. SIMON TILLOTSON
Interim Priest in Charge
A bit of background for you. I have been sharing my role at All Saints Whitstable with St Peter's Church Whitstable since 2007 but from 16 November 2020 I am moving the St Peter's part of my role over to St John's, Swalecliffe with Chestfield. Revd Rachel Webbley has taken on my role at St Peter's whilst still being based at St Alphege Whitstable. I also remain as Team Vicar at All Saints. These changes are due to the fact that the Whitstable Team cannot afford a direct replacement for Revd David Vannerley, who we sadly said farewell to on on 15 November 2020. David is now enjoying a well-earned retirement.
These changes are on an experimental basis as none of this has yet been formally agreed as a long-term solution. At some point next year (I don't know precisely when) there will be the long-awaited Parish Review and an assessment of how the new staffing arrangement is going. I very much want this to work and hope that you do too.
I like St John's a great deal. I have taken a few services there in the last 14 years and each time i have found it a warm and welcoming church family. I am particularly impressed, since the above discussions began, by the energy and enthusiasm of those in leadership at the church to continue reaching out to our pastoral district with God's love.

Anne is married to Mike, Chairman of 6th Whitstable Scout Group. Ann is now retired following a long career in childcare. She enjoys gardening, cooking, travelling and also helps to arrange the flowers in church!
